The Kilconnell Rural Development Co-operative Society is one of the largest membership organisations in the village of Kilconnell with it's members being drawn exclusively from Kilconnell village and its immediate surrounding areas.
The organisation is run as a co-operative and is officially affiliated to ICOS (Irish Co-Operative Organisation Society) with each one member having one vote, the co-operative was initially set up to highlight important issues affecting life in the community and to be used as a platform for Kilconnell people to voice their opinions and thoughts on ways to better community life.
The CO-OP is an all inclusive group for anyone who lives in the Kilconnell area and although farmers are members the vast majority of members are from non farming backgrounds. Indeed some of the projects the Co-op has undertaken have helped a broad range of people in the village of Kilconnell whether it has been providing GAA goalposts for the local national school or providing this website as an important resource for the local community to access news, views & events in the area.
The board and it's members are drawn from the local community and we welcome any help when it is offered as we are all volunteers, listed below are our aims and agenda so please feel free to have a read and if you want to help with any of our projects or become a member then contact us at the numbers or email below.
